The Ambassador

Welcome to the Royal Danish Embassy in Ankara.

The embassy is led by Ole Toft, the Danish ambassador to Türkiye. The bilateral relations between Denmark and modern Türkiye began with a treaty of friendship in 1925. Before that, Danish diplomatic representatives had been sent to the Ottoman Empire since the middle of the 18th century.

At the embassy, we work to strengthen the existing good connections between Denmark and Türkiye. Bilateral political relations, the cultural and commercial ties are handled by the embassy in cooperation with the Consulate General in Istanbul. Aside from that, we closely follow the political situation in Türkiye. The embassy in Ankara also covers Azerbaijan.

Ole is the former ambassador to Poland and has been posted to the Permanent Representation of Denmark to The European Union on three separate missions.
