HRH The Crown Prince
HRH The Crown Prince, Frederik André Henrik Christian b. 26.5.1968, Prince of Denmark, Crown Prince, oldest son of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik.
The Crown Prince has had an all round education. After attending Krebs School in Copenhagen from 1974, supplemented with school attendance in France 1982-83, he matriculated in modern languages from Øregaard Gymnasium in 1986.
Immediately afterwards he began comprehensive military training, ending with a special course in the Navy Diving Corps. In connection with his 18th birthday he joined the Queen in Council. In 1989-95 the Crown Prince completed the full political science course at Aarhus University, finishing with graduation and supplemented with studies abroad.
From 1998 to 1999 he served as Secretary at the Danish Embassy in Paris and in the autumn of 2000 he finished an education in the Air Force.
In 2002, the Crown Prince completed an advanced training programme in military leadership at the Royal Danish Defence College, thus achieving the rank of commander in the Navy and major in the Army and in the Air Force. On 1st. of September 2002, he joined the Operation Staff of Defence Command Denmark.
In the autumn of 2003 the Crown Prince of Denmark was engaged to Mary Elizabeth Donaldson from Australia. The wedding took place in the Cathedral of Copenhagen, Vor Frue Kirke, on 14th. of May 2004. The couple have 4 children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
