Danish passport

From 1 January 2012 You will only be able to apply for a Danish passport at the Embassy in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul.The passport is produced in Copenhagen and the processing time is 4-5 weeks.

You can still apply in person for an emergency passport at the Honorary Consulates, and it will be issued as soon as possible, often on the same day.

From 1 January 2012 new rules come into force regarding the uptake of biometric data for Danish passports. You can read about the new rules here. You will be able to apply for a Danish passport only at the Embassy in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul. You will still, however, be able to apply for an emergency passport or an extension of your Danish passport at the Honorary Consulates.

As of June 26th 2012 everyone must possess a passport of their own when travelling in or out of Denmark. Thus, children under the age of 15 who are imbedded into the passport of an adult must have a passport of their own, if they are to travel abroad. Passport applications must be submitted to ‘Borgerservice’ in Denmark or the Danish Embassy or Consulate General in Turkey. You can read more about the rules here.
