Do you want to work on and promote technical cooperation between Danish and Turkish authorities within energy and environment as well as other valuable activities carried out by the embassy in Ankara?

The political section at the embassy in Ankara is looking for an intern for its strategic sector cooperation unit (“SSC unit”). The SSC unit is currently facilitating the implementation of two technical cooperation projects between Danish and Turkish ministries within energy and environment. In addition, a third project on offshore wind power is to be started during the autumn of 2018. In addition to SSC related activities, the intern will also lead the embassy’s efforts on social media platforms.

During the internship you will play a key role in the work of the SSC unit as well as in the social media communication efforts at the embassy overall. Your base will be in the SSC unit consisting of two colleagues – the posted sector counsellor and the locally employed project coordinator. The main job will be to assist in all relevant activities of the unit with special focus on communication related tasks.

Your main daily tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Assist in the planning of and follow-up work after:

Lead the embassy’s efforts concerning presence on social media platforms

  • Assist in writing articles and post updates on the embassy website and profiles on Facebook and potential platforms
  • Help out with ideas for and carry out production of short topical videos
  • Ensure collection of pictures and key notes from SSC and other selected embassy activities.

Administrative tasks, which also will include helping out with our daily routines

  • Including on-going coordination with the colleagues at the Trade Council working out of the Danish Consulate General in Istanbul.

The candidate

You will be a part of the SSC unit, which again is a part of the political section at the Danish Embassy in Ankara.

We are looking for a candidate with

  • Enrolment at a higher educational institution in Denmark focusing on marketing, journalism, media, communication or alike
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written) and maybe with knowledge of Turkish (an advantage but not a must)

  • Previous experience with editing websites (an advantage but not a must).

The candidate should have drive, a positive attitude, and be open to new ideas. On top, the candidate should be able to handle and prioritise numerous parallel tasks without losing perspective and focus. Saying that, we do not expect a perfect candidate but rather one with a big growth potential. Attitude and the right personality is key to us.
